In this series, we have reimagined Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Puss in Boots and Sleeping Beauty, told only in pictures, as part of our Design series.
Five illustrators each give their own version on this story, telling the tale in eighteen images with no text at all. The lack of text gives the storyteller a greater freedom to tell the story and fill out the details however they like. By placing the visual at the forefront, the book also makes it possible to return to the oral tradition that gave rise to these tales in the first place.

When a classic story is reissued, it’s not exactly newsworthy – yet here is a new edition that is definitely worth mentioning.

And just how perfect is a set of five such unique storybooks for a young child? Very much indeed. After all, they love variety and role-playing – wouldn’t they love a story that looks different every day? They can choose the version they like best that day and discover the little surprises. Older children will have a blast with the familiar details from everyday life. Last but not least, the absence of text frees up the storyteller as well – they can twist and embellish the story however they please. Paradoxically, as visual elements take center stage, a return to oral tradition becomes possible.
