A csendeskönyv különleges műfaj. Alkotója kizárólag képekkel mesél, és az olvasóval közösen írja a történetet: az egyik elkezdi, a másik folytatja. A szöveg nélküli könyvek többféleképpen használhatók: mesélhetjük szavakkal vagy nézegethetjük csendben. A képek érzéseket, álmokat, emlékeket idéznek fel. Olyan élethelyzeteket, érzelmeket jelenítenek meg, amelyeket szavakkal nagyon nehéz elmondani. A képek vezetnek és segítenek minket, hogy mindannyian megírhassuk a saját történetünket.

”It was a great deal of freedom, but also a huge responsibility, since the narrative was entirely up to me. The order of things was different; some parts came to life through words, and others through images, and I had to blend and pair them together. If something didn’t work, I had to figure it out on my own. It was both chaotic and exciting. This was my first time doing something like this, and even though it was a lot of work, I really enjoyed it.”
Silent book is a special genre. Its author tells the story using only pictures, and writes it together with the reader: one begins, the other continues. Textless books can be used in different ways: they can be told in words or looked at in silence. The pictures evoke feelings, dreams and memories. They portray situations and emotions that are very difficult to express in words. Pictures guide and help us to write our own stories.
