A csendeskönyv különleges műfaj. Alkotója kizárólag képekkel mesél, és az olvasóval közösen írja a történetet: az egyik elkezdi, a másik folytatja. A szöveg nélküli könyvek többféleképpen használhatók: mesélhetjük szavakkal vagy nézegethetjük csendben. A képek érzéseket, álmokat, emlékeket idéznek fel. Olyan élethelyzeteket, érzelmeket jelenítenek meg, amelyeket szavakkal nagyon nehéz elmondani. A képek vezetnek és segítenek minket, hogy mindannyian megírhassuk a saját történetünket.

Everything that surrounds us will one day disappear, just as we ourselves will. We are part of an eternal cycle. There is something uplifting and beautiful about this, and of course something sad too.
The question is not whether we should talk about it, but how we can talk about it. Perhaps in the same way as these beautiful images do.
The delicate, lyrical images of So It Goes help to express the inexpressible: that everything passes, but everything also continues. It tells of ephemerality, of passing, and of the beauty of the cycle – without words, using only images.
Mariann Máray’s beautiful picture book talks about life and death in a way that every child can understand, and tells every child something important. In the same way, it speaks to every adult, because life and death concern us all.

Silent book is a special genre. Its author tells the story using only pictures, and writes it together with the reader: one begins, the other continues. Textless books can be used in different ways: they can be told in words or looked at in silence. The pictures evoke feelings, dreams and memories. They portray situations and emotions that are very difficult to express in words. Pictures guide and help us to write our own stories.
