A trójai ló történetét mind jól ismerjük. Tíz év sikertelen ostrom után a görögök építettek egy óriási falovat, és a belsejében elrejtették a legerősebb, harcosaikat. A lovat Trója falai elé vontatták, majd úgy tettek, mintha elhajóznának. A trójaiak behúzták a kapun a csodás győzelmi ajándéknak vélt lovat, és még aznap este ünnepséget rendeztek a régóta várt béke örömére. Míg a védők vigadtak, a ló hasából előbújtak a görög katonák, kinyitották a városkapukat a társaiknak, akik az éjszaka leple alatt visszahajóztak a parthoz. A görögök betódultak a városba, és elpusztították Tróját.
Igen ám, de a ló vajon miről mesélne nekünk?!

There are usually two sides to a war, the winning side and the losing side. But there can be a thousand sides to a tale. A history book will never take into account the feelings and thoughts of an inanimate object – but that’s what storybooks are for!
The Horse tells the story of the Trojan Horse we all know: after ten years of unsuccessful sieges, the Greeks built a huge horse and hid their strongest warriors inside. They pulled the horse up to the walls of Troy and pretended to sail away. The Trojans drew the horse through the gates, claiming it as a miraculous gift of victory, and that evening they held a celebration to rejoice in the long-awaited peace. While the defenders consoled themselves, the Greek soldiers emerged from the horse’s belly, opened the city gates to their comrades, who sailed back to the shore under cover of night. The Greeks invaded the city and destroyed Troy.
But what did the horse understand from all this? Through Lilla Turi’s vibrant, dynamic illustrations, we can finally follow the perspective of history’s most famous wooden horse.
